Dry-Out
Process
Refractory Dry out is a controlled process of applying heat to a refractory lining to remove water from the lining system without causing damage to the refractory materials.
It can be achieved using high-velocity burners to cure and dry out the moisture from the refractory materials in the start-up process. This unique system ensures carefully controlled conditions, and the risk of damage to refractories caused by spalling (aka, rupturing) can be eliminated, thereby extending the life of the refractory.
Application
Our Specialized team will arrive with all the required tools and types of machinery from head office. Post-inspection, the team will line up the system and kick off the dry-out process using High-velocity burners.
The high turn-down ratio (50:1) helps us maintain high-velocity discharge and excellent re-circulation within the system and a uniform furnace atmosphere. We use a precise dry-out schedule based on customer requirements to execute the work with the necessary raising, holding, and cooling down patterns to remove the moisture and extend the refractory’s life.
